If you are looking for a great place to spend a vacation and want to go
scuba diving, Puerto Vallarta is one of the best choices you could make.
With a blend of silky sandy beaches, dazzling waters and charming
colonial neighborhoods, Puerto Vallarta is the perfect place for
relaxation, escape and endless fun.
There are many Puerto Vallarta scuba diving sites to choose from,
regardless of the experience one has. From novice to advanced, every
level diver can have an incredible underwater experience through scuba
diving. So whether you went scuba diving before or you are trying it for
the first time, there are plenty of companies to choose from that will
help you have the best scuba diving experience.
The diversity of the bottom structure and the abundant sea life is
probably what makes Puerto Vallarta scuba diving so attractive. You will
see shallow reefs, pinnacles, drop offs, sloppy bottoms, Volcanic rock
formation, small shallow coves, drift diving, cave diving and blue water
diving. Here are some of the dive sites you can choose from:
Los Arcos:
This site is world famous and the most popular for scuba diving. It's a
calm site, teeming with small creatures and fish, with a drop from 25 to
65 feet, and shallow waters. The Devil's Canyon is a must see, as it
drops to almost 1500 feet. For a unique experience, you can ask to go on
a night dive, as there are some companies that offer this too. Seeing a
bio-luminescent world of octopus, eels and lobsters will be worth it.
Majahuitas:
This site also has an interesting and abundant fish life, with a mixed
sand and rocky bottom, and many isolated beaches. You can dive rock
walls and discover a beautiful marine life like turtles, eels, tropical
fish and morays. The amazing white sandy beach is only accessible by
boat, thus you won't see crowds here.
Marietas Islands:
This is the perfect site for anyone looking for excitement, as it has
volcanic tunnels, abundant sea life, varieties of hard coral, swim
through and possible encountering with Giant Manta Rays. Located only 20
miles from Puerto Vallarta, it is a perfect place for an exotic,
awesome dive.
Chimo and Moro:
These sites are destined for experienced divers, due to the distance
into the ocean that makes diving more challenging. There's a vast sea
life, gorgeous pinnacles, and the possibility to see larger animals.
La Corbetena:
This site is for experts only, or very adventurous divers. The seascape
and sea life are worth the trip, but the waters are pretty demanding.
If you want to have an awesome vacation, Puerto Vallarta scuba diving is
an opportunity you don't want to miss. Explore the underwater tunnels
and volcanic caves and enjoy the abundant see life in a trip of a life
time.
